Genesis: Week 2 (Southaven)
After sin entered through Adam’s disobedience, Adam and Eve were removed from the garden so that they would not continue to access the tree of life in their sin and because they could no longer be in the holy presence of God. They began to multiply and fill the earth. But sin had a devastating impact as seen in the murder of Abel by his brother, Cain. Soon, the spiritual forces of evil and fallen humanity were working in tandem to rebel against God and harm creation. Evil powers attempted to stop God’s plan of redemption through a future savior, and the earth was full of evil. God cannot allow evil to run unchecked, and his plan for salvation could not be stopped, so God flooded the earth as an act of judgement and sign for future generations that all sin and evil will be ultimately destroyed to make way for a new creation.
