Genesis: Week 7 (Southaven)

Everyone will have hard moments in life. Everyone will experience circumstances that do not see fair. We don’t need to question whether we will go through challenging seasons of life that may not make sense. The question that we need to ask is will we trust God and remain faithfully obedient in those seasons. We can all be encouraged to remain faithful in difficult seasons by understanding that God will carry us through these hard times. And further, God will use these hard seasons to bring us to a better future. In fact, the hard seasons of life are sometimes necessary to carry us to the place where God intends for us to be—both for our good, the good of others, and for God’s glory. This is the story of Joseph. He experienced one difficult and seemingly unfair season after another, but He never quit trusting God and God never left Him. God used Joseph’s challenging road to bring him to a better future that was a blessing to him and to entire nations of people. What people meant for evil, God meant for good. God was weaving a bigger story than anyone could see in the moment, but it all made sense in the end.
