A Simple Christmas: Week 2 (Southaven)

The Christmas story begins with the hope of a child, but it is not the child that you are thinking about. That part of the story is still to come. The story begins with Zechariah and Elizabeth hearing the news that they will have a child in their old age. The child will be named John, and he will be a messenger of hope to those around him. God is on the move and something big is coming. John is confident that God is about to show His power and grace, and he invites the crowds to prepare with anticipation. We can also be confident that God is on the move, and we need to prepare to receive God’s great gift as well.
