What has been your experience (if any) with the Holy Spirit guiding or speaking to you? Clear, confusing, unfamiliar? 

What does it mean to you that the Spirit “illuminates” Scripture rather than replacing it? Why is that distinction important? 

Have you ever had a moment where something from Scripture suddenly felt personal or clear? What do you think was happening? 

What are some ways we might confuse our own thoughts or feelings with God’s voice? How can Scripture help us discern the difference?
